Co-Founder & Guide
My name is Alessia and I am the co-founder of DiscoveryPisa. I was born in Umbria, in a very small village called Spoleto. After graduating from high school, I immediately fled to Florence, where I earned a degree in foreign languages and literature, specializing in Spanish and English.
In 2011, I left Florence and moved permanently to Pisa, where I trained to become a tour guide. In 2012, my colleague Andrea and I founded DiscoveryPisa. Today, after much hard work, DiscoveryPisa has grown and we continue with passion to show tourists from all over the world the beauties of Pisa, making art, culture and history accessible to everyone.
Alessia loves showing the “real Pisa” beyond the postcard views — the quiet corners, local stories, and small details that make the city come alive. Her tours are warm, well-paced, and practical, with plenty of time for questions, photos, and hidden viewpoints along the way. If you’re curious about art and history (or you simply want Pisa explained clearly by a local), you’ll be in great hands.
Outside of guiding, Alessia keeps exploring Tuscany one museum, café, and viewpoint at a time — so her recommendations are always current. Guests love her calm, friendly style and the way she connects big history with the everyday life of Pisa.
