Here you can find all the important and most frequently asked questions about our tours.

Get in Touch

Do you have any doubts about an upcoming tour? Do you need more information before you book one? Just contact us!

If you need us, we are here to help you, but you may find a great answer on our FAQ page.

Is there a minimum number of participants? And a maximum?

As long as there is one participant, the tour would be made. Anyone can participate on its own. If there are no other reservations that day, the tour would be done with just you!

Our groups are small, a maximum of 15 people. If ther are more than 15 participants booked, two smaller groups would be created.

Audio guides are always included so you can clearly listen to your guide.

How much time in advance should I book my tour?

You can book your guided tour of Pisa up to 3 hours before it starts.

Can I cancel my tour?

Yes, you can. All of our tours have the same cancellation policy: free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start of the visit. If you cancel later, there will be no refund, except in special circumstances.

How much time takes one of your tours? What about going up to the Tower?

The climb to the tower lasts about 25-40 minutes, depending on how many people have to climb and your personal strength 😉 For this reason, if you book your ticket to go up the Tower, you have to add these 25-40 minutes to the total duration of your visit.

Below you can see the duration of our tours.

Our “Pisa Cathedral guided tour” lasts approximately 1-1.15h. If, on the other hand, you want to follow the “Pisa All Inclusive Guided Tour” you should consider an hour and a half of a guided tour. While with the “Pisa Cathedral Guided Tour & Wine Tasting”, you will have to calculate at least two hours. Remember that if you have the entrance to go up to the Tower, you must add another 25-40 minutes to the duration of your tour.

Are children accepted on your tours?

Of course! Our tours are design made for everyone! Children under 8 years old do not pay. Just remember that children under the age of 8 cannot go up the Tower for security reasons.

What languages do you offer tour tours in?

At DiscoveryPisa we speak many languages. You can follow our tours in Italian, Spanish, German and English.

How do I book my tour?

In the main menu of our web site you will find the “Guided Tours of Pisa” link.

If, on the other hand, you want to take a tour that is not present on our website, simply send us an email to: info@discoverypisa.com and we will find the best proposal for you.

What is the meeting point? What if I’m late?

All our tours start from Porta Santa Maria/ Nuova in Piazza Manin. Here the address on google maps. https://maps.app.goo.gl/SiAj4hWbDgKGmgcj8

You will meet your guide at the meeting point 15 minutes before the start of the tour, he/she will be waiting for you under the arch with the DiscoveryPisa flag.

We ask all our clients to arrive at the meeting point at least 10 minutes before the start of the tour, to organize the groups and deliver the radios in order to start on time. If you are late, call us so we know it and we can wait for you. There will be a 5 minute courtesy and then, visits will begin.

You can call the emergency number +39 3515424858 at any time to get in direct contact with the guide, who will inform you where the group is.

Are the tickets for the monuments and the Leaning Tower included in the tour price? Is there any additional cost?

Yes. All tickets to the monuments are included in the tour price. The entrance of the tower will also be included in the price of the tour, as long as you reserve the option that includes the ticket to the Tower.

No, there are no additional costs.

Is there any kind of restriction to go up the Tower?

Yes. As we said before, children under 8 years old cannot go up to the Tower for security reasons. Going up to the Tower is also not recommended for people with heart-related problems. We remind you that the Tower has 252 steps and has no kind of elevator service.

How do I get to the meeting point?

Pisa is a very well connected city. We have the Galileo Galilei airport, the main one in Tuscany. We also have the train station with excellent connections to Florence, Rome, Lucca, Bologna, Venice and Milan. You can also get to Pisa by car.

By train: from the central train station, take the LAM Rossa bus and get off at the “TORRE” stop and it will be in Piazza Manin. You only have to approach the central arch of the wall and there you will find your guide.

By car: you will find two parking lots very close to our meeting point. The first one in via Bonanno and the second one in via Piave. Both are a 5-10 minute walk away from the meeting point.

Why a tour with a tour guide?

Because you will discover that Pisa is much more than the Leaning Tower. Because walking hand in hand with an expert and licensed guide will enrich your visit in a way that a travel guide or a blog article cannot do, and will also add fun the tour. And just because we love this city so much, that we have made it our work, and we want to share tha passion with you. Since we want Pisa to be available for everyone, our tours are made for all budgets and children under 8 have free tickets.

Are your visits wheelchair accessible?

Yes. All the monuments in Piazza dei Miracoli are wheelchair accessible. The only monument that cannot be accessed with a wheelchair is the Leaning Tower. Also the historic center is accessible. However, please email us at info@discoverypisa.com if you are interested in taking a tour of the city center with a wheelchair, so that we can organize the best itinerary and avoid the smaller roads.

Can I make one of your tours private? If I can’t find a tour that meets my needs, what can I do?

Yes, you can convert any of our tours into a private tour from € 180. Send us an email to booking@discoverypisa.com, including the following information: the tour you are intested in, wether or not you want access to the Leaning Tower, the number of participants and the date so we can send you a personalized quote.

If none of our itineraries covers what you would like to see, please email us at booking@discoverypisa.com and we will work with you to offer the best experience.
